We the People: Alabama's Defining Documents Professional Development Workshops

In accordance with the debut of the We the People: Alabama's Defining Documents exhibit at the Alabama Department of Archives and History on November 3, the Alabama Bicentennial Education Department will host two one-day professional development sessions based around the exhibit on November 6 and 7. Each workshop will include a guided tour of the exhibit, a discussion led by local historians, constitution-based gamification activities, and cross-curricular pedagogical training from Alabama Bicentennial Master Teachers. Participants will receive a $50 substitute reimbursement stipend, complimentary lunch, and an array of resources to take back to the classroom.

Wednesday, November 6: Secondary Workshop (Grades 7, 10-12)
Thursday, November 7: Elementary Workshop (Grades 4-6)

Alabama History Institutes: Summer 2020

The Alabama Bicentennial Summer Institutes will be rebranded as Alabama History Institutes, a professional development program sponsored by the Alabama Department of Archives and History. Twelve new three-day sessions will take place across the state during the summer of 2020, including several specialized one-day sessions. 

Registration for the 2020 AHI sessions will open on November 12.
