200 Alabama Bicentennial

Celebrating Alabama’s 200th birthday2017 2018 2019

On Friday, September 14, Graydon Rust will leave the Alabama Bicentennial Commission to take a position at the Alabama Humanities Foundation.

A new contact for grants, calendars, and endorsements will be announced soon. If you need assistance in the meantime, please contact Debra Pascal at 334-242-4537 or Debra.Pascal@bicentennial.alabama.gov.

Graydon began working with the bicentennial in 2016 and quickly became an integral part of the staff and the commission’s work. Among his many assignments was “This Week in Alabama History,” which he created, researched, and wrote and which is now produced by the Alabama NewsCenter, Good News From Home. He also served as project manager and go-to for the Alabama Bicentennial PastPort. His handiwork is evident in the excellent research and writing of the project, but perhaps even more important has been his dedication to recruiting and supporting PastPort destinations and stamp sites. He will also be familiar to many as the community contact for grants and endorsements.

The commission and its staff are honored to have worked with Graydon over the last couple of years and wish him all the best in his new endeavors.
