Letter from Cullman County concerning teaching illiterate soldiers.

In the letter, the Cullman County defense committee writes of their efforts to "teach our soldier boys who have been drafted to read and write who can not already do so." In Cullman County, 13 of every 100 soldiers cannot read or write. The committee feels it is their patriotic duty to teach the soldiers, stating, "The boys must do their duty; let's volunteer to do ours."
